Review: Bluffworks Departure Jeans

I am a big fan of Bluffworks. I have already reviewed their chinos and their shirt, and now it’s time to review my favorite pair of jeans: the Bluffworks Departure Jeans.

Jeans are one of those items that you have to have. But jeans can be hard and constricting if they are not yet broken in while traveling and commuting, so when Bluffworks announced their jeans, and knowing their quality and attention to the needs of the commute, I got a pair and I am NOT disappointed.

The Departure Jeans are made of a blend of 68% Cotton, 22% COOLMAX Polyester, 9% Rayon, and 1% Spandex. They are light, breathable and very stretchy. They move with you. I bought the slim version, and it’s perfect for the urban environment. The medium wash dark color makes it really nice if you need to dress it up for a more formal occasion, or you can dress it down and be cool on a summer day in the city with a tshirt and sneakers.

These jeans come with the classic five pockets you expect from a good pair of jeans, plus they have also two hidden, zippered pockets in the back waistband. I found these to be good for stashing flat items while traveling on crowded areas. A really good addition to the traditional five pockets.

I have worn my pair with the Bluffworks Blazer (review soon), and you can complete a good business casual look for traveling and commuting, with items that are easy to care for and have plenty of stashing pockets. Again, you can dress this up with a shirt and tie, and be very casual with a polo.

I have been wearing these jeans almost daily for 6 months already. Commuting on trains and traveling to Europe and Asia with them. They show some signs of wear, like a good solid pair of jeans should, but the quality of the fabrics, and the build will make these jeans live long. They continue to be my go to piece for everything.

Like with everything Bluffworks manufactures, these are highly recommended.
